Judge: Tim Aston

Tim Aston recently transitioned to full-time landscape photographer after a decade in the classroom teaching high school biology. Based out of the Eastern Sierra, he looks out for any interesting subject, large or small, with a penchant for ecology, the wilderness of the Sierra, and the vast desert terrain in the rain shadow of the Sierra. His passion for teaching hasn’t diminished but has changed venues from a classroom of teenagers to small groups of adults in the Inyo National Forest. He focuses on helping his students find their own inspiration in nature and channeling their interests into evocative imagery.
