Photographer: Luís Godinho
Luis Godinho was born in Angra do Heroísmo, Azores, in 1983. He holds a degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from University of Azores but also has a wide experience as a photographer, especially in photojournalism and documentary photography. He became a professional photographer in 2017. Prominent websites and magazines, such as National Geographic, Leica Fotografie International, Lens Culture, 500px or 1x, recognize his work internationally. As a winner and finalist of many international prizes, Luis also published some of his works in international photography editions. In 2017 he won the Sony World Photography Awards. He also won the Silver Camera (2019) and Bronze Camera (2020), both in photojournalism category, at the European Photographer of the Year Competition. Luis currently lives in Azores, Portugal and works as a freelance photographer all around the world.
