Photographer: Ivo Matějů
Ivo Matějů, an enthusiastic amateur photographer of architecture and landscapes from Hradec Králové (Czech Republic). I love to travel and for me, travel and photography are always inseparable connected. Initially, I documented everything with my mobile phone, but over time, I realized that my phone was not sufficient enought and was limiting my possibilities. Therefore, at the end of 2020, I invested in my first mirrorless camera, the Sony A7, with a basic lens.
Currently, with my Sony A7R III camera, I capture the beauty of landscapes, predominantly using GM lenses, a Gitzo tripod, and magnetic filters from the Czech brand VFFoto. My favorite shooting locations include the Dolomites, Bavaria, and recently, Slovakia. I have a passion for minimalist architecture shots and long exposures, especially along the Baltic Sea, where I regularly and joyfully return.
For me, the act of taking a photograph is as important as the subsequent post-production. I consider the captured RAW file on location as the foundation for the creative process, which I later develop and craft at home on the computer.
