Joseph Villena is a 20-year-old Filipino currently residing in Manaoag, Pangasinan. He was a former campus journalist, and his forte was in feature writing. He is a 4th year broadcasting student at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Manila Campus.

He wants to be a broadcaster to disseminate true and authentic news to the public. He aims to feature unknown and unheard stories so that those stories can be heard in the world loud and clear. His objective as a broadcaster is to bring to light a certain cause or injustice and to amplify the people’s voices. He passionately believed that documentary programs are an informative resource that is a great platform to create awareness and to open the eyes of the public.

Journalism for him is a powerful tool that brings important issues to the table in a captivating way that can spark conversation and even social movements. At an early age, journalism taught him that words are powerful and can create huge differences in the nation.
