Photographer: Margarita Rousseva

Margarita Rousseva is a Bulgarian-born photographer, who has lived in the United States and travelled throughout the world. She is currently based in Bulgaria. Long-term photographic essays are her passion. She likes to immerse herself completely in the environment of her subjects to form genuine human connections. This warmth is conveyed in the poetic and intimate atmosphere of her pictures. Margarita Rousseva has two published photo books. The first one, "Faraway Songs" is 5-year-long monograph, exploring the remote villages of Bulgaria's Rhodope mountains through words and images. The second, "Context" is a collection of conceptual photographs. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo exhibitions in Sofia, Paris, London, Bern.
