Photographer: Olena Tarnovska

I was born and raised in Ukraine. As a child, I dreamed of a creative profession and graduated from the Kyiv school of Arts. I received my higher education in jurisprudence. I also studied and lived in Germany. I have always loved traveling and learning foreign languages. In 2021, I resumed my old hobby – photography, and began studying at the Kyiv School of Photography. Since then, photography has become an important part of my life. It was on photography that I was able to rely morally six months after the start of the war in Ukraine in 2022. Now I reside in Italy. Photography continues to help me balance in the new world, the new life in which we are now.
My photobook has received an Honourable mention at International Photography Awards 2023. Four other works where officially selected at the International Photography Awards 2023.
Some of my photographs are presented at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography in different exhibitions.
I achieved a nomination at 2023 International Black and White Spider Awards.
My two photobooks have been awarded a Winning Placement in the 2023 Tokyo International Foto Awards – Bronze.
Eight of my works received an Honorable Mention in the 2023 Tokyo International Foto Awards.
Two series have made into the Official Selection by the Jury for a prize in the London International Creative Competition 2024.
