Photographer: Paula Pink
Paula Pink is a photographic artist living in USA. Originally from Scotland, she trained and worked as a graphic designer in London and holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from The New School, NYC. Her work has appeared in national and international exhibitions and is held in several private collections.
Experimenting in and out of the darkroom, she is particularly fascinated by patterns in nature, organic forms, and the interconnectivity between all living things. Often working without a camera, her images explore unforeseen or hidden details that are part of our everyday lives yet remain beyond the threshold of human perception. In her recent series "Inner Light", electricity, both as a literal force and a metaphorical concept, serves as the foundation for her artistic exploration. Images are made in the darkroom without a camera or lens, using plant forms on silver gelatin paper exposed to light and electrical discharge, illuminating mysterious, intangible forces that shape the world around us.
Recent Exhibitions include the 2024 and 2022 Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition, the 2024 Royal Photographic Society's 165th International Photography Exhibition, and Barcelona's Fotonostrum Gallery 2022, 2023. She has won several awards including runner up in the 17th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, winner of the 18th and 19th Pollux Award, and third place in the 2022 IPE awards for Alternative Process Photography.
