Photographer: Valentina Li
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Valentina Li, and I am a photographer originally from Uzbekistan. My journey in the world of art began when I graduated from college with a degree as a master of Ceramics. For three years, I worked at a porcelain factory, honing my skills and craftsmanship. Seeking better opportunities, I transitioned to a small ceramic store where I enjoyed an improved salary.
However, my passion for photography eventually led me to make a career change. In 2010-2014, I started capturing moments through the lens primarily focusing on weddings, events, and family photography. It was during this time that I discovered my love for freezing precious memories in time.
Life took me on various adventures as well. After leaving Uzbekistan, I moved to Russia with my 4 years old son, where circumstances prevented me from pursuing photography for some time due to personal challenges that required my attention.
In 2019, an opportunity arose in Korea where I spent six to seven months working as an assistant chef in a restaurant while immersing myself in the local culture and cuisine.
Fate had something special planned for me when I met my husband during this period of exploration. In 2020, we made the decision together to embark on another chapter of our lives by moving to the United States.
With renewed determination and excitement for pursuing my passion once again, 2021 marked the beginning of my photography career in the USA.
